This is the cold email plan we'd run for an AI SEO agency that gets companies named in ChatGPT and Perplexity and Google's AI answers. Plenty of these agencies call the work GEO. The proof takes one minute to find. Ask the AI the question their buyers ask and see who it names.
Your market is every company in your industry whose buyers ask questions before they buy. For a software agency that is anyone whose buyers type "best payroll software for small accounting firms". For a law firm agency it is any firm whose clients ask where to find a lawyer for their problem.
The signal here is unusually easy to check. Ask the question and read the answer. These are the things to look for.
Ask ChatGPT and Perplexity and Google's AI the question a buyer would ask. Note who gets named. A company that ranks on Google and never shows up in these answers has an obvious gap.
The same answer names a rival by name. That line goes straight into the email.
Sometimes the AI names the company and describes an old service or the wrong location. Owners want that fixed quickly because buyers are reading it right now.
Perplexity and Google's AI show the sources behind each answer. Open them. If the lists and articles being cited never mention the company it has little chance of being named.
Ahrefs or Semrush shows their Google rankings. A company that already ranks well has content worth building on and already understands why search matters.
Look for pages that answer buyer questions directly. Comparison pages and pricing pages and clear service pages all count. A site full of vague headlines gives an AI tool nothing to quote.
At small and mid-sized companies the founder or the head of marketing owns this. At bigger ones it sits with the head of search or digital.
Ten questions their buyers ask and the answers ChatGPT and Perplexity and Google's AI give to each. List who got named and include the screenshots. Mark each answer where they are missing or described wrong.
It works because the proof is their own buyers' questions and a rival named again and again does the convincing for you.
Walk through it on a 15 minute screen share. Owners want to ask why a rival gets named and the answer is the plan you sell.
The pages those AI answers cite most often in their industry and whether the company appears on each one.
It works because it turns a fuzzy problem into a to do list.
Go through it on a call because only they know which of those sites they already have relationships with. Getting onto the rest is the work you do.
Rewrite their five most important pages so they answer buyer questions plainly and are easy to quote. Hand them over ready to publish.
It works because it is the same work the retainer pays for. Run the same questions again a few weeks after the pages go live and share the new answers without promising a result.
It starts with a 20 minute call to hear how they describe their services and which questions buyers ask on sales calls. Deliver the pages within ten days of that call.
Each segment gets its own email because a specific email gets more replies than a general one. Split each segment by sub-industry too so the examples in the email fit the reader.
Keep each email under 100 words with one reason for writing and one line of proof and one offer and one question. The proof lines are examples of the kind of result to use. Swap in real results of your own before anything goes out.
They never come up. Lead with the exact question and the names that came back and offer the report.
Hi {{first_name}},
Asked ChatGPT "{{buyer_question}}" this morning. It named {{competitor_1}} and {{competitor_2}}. {{company}} wasn't in the answer.
Ran nine more questions your buyers ask and screenshotted who came up.
A firm we work with went from zero mentions to being named in 6 of those 10 answers within three months.
Want me to walk you through the report?

Lead with the wrong detail and quote the line the AI gave. Offer the rewrite.
Hi {{first_name}},
Perplexity describes {{company}} as "{{ai_description}}". That looks out of date and buyers asking about {{service}} are reading it right now.
Happy to rewrite your five main pages free so these tools have something accurate to quote.
For one client the wrong description was gone from ChatGPT and Perplexity five weeks after the new pages went live.
Interested?

Lead with the competitor because owners care far more about a named rival than about new technology. Ask for a call directly.
Hi {{first_name}},
Asked ChatGPT for the best {{service}} provider and it recommended {{competitor_1}} first. {{company}} didn't come up.
We get {{industry}} companies named in AI answers. The last client we started with was being recommended alongside its biggest rival within four months.
Worth 15 minutes to see why {{competitor_1}} keeps getting picked?
{{sender_first_name}}
Lead with the contrast. They win the old kind of search and lose the new one. Offer the source list.
Hi {{first_name}},
{{company}} ranks on page one of Google for "{{keyword}}". Ask ChatGPT the same question and {{company}} isn't mentioned.
AI answers pull from a different set of sources. Mapped the ones they cite most in {{industry}} and marked where you're missing.
Getting onto four of those sources put one of our clients into the answers within two months.

Send two follow ups in the same thread three to five days apart.
Each reply should end in a booked meeting that actually happens. The lead magnet and the offer get delivered on that call and never go out as a file to read later.
The replies below cover the three ways people say yes.
They asked for the report. The call is where each missing answer gets explained.
Hi {{first_name}},
Happy to. The screenshots make more sense with someone explaining why each rival got picked. Fifteen minutes on a screen share covers all ten questions and what would change the answers.
Does Tuesday at 10am or Wednesday at 2pm work?
{{sender_first_name}}
They want the five pages rewritten. The call collects how they describe themselves.
Hi {{first_name}},
Great. To get the pages right I need 20 minutes with you first. How you describe {{company}} and the questions buyers ask on sales calls.
The pages come back within ten days of that call. Does Thursday at 11am or Friday at 3pm work?
{{sender_first_name}}
They said yes to a call. Tell them what they'll leave with so they show up.
Hi {{first_name}},
Perfect. I'll bring the sources ChatGPT uses when it recommends {{competitor_1}} and show where {{company}} is missing. You'll leave with the first three places to fix.
Does Monday at 1pm or Tuesday at 9am work?

Results aren't guaranteed and nobody honest can promise a number before the first emails go out. A few things decide how a campaign does.
The first few weeks show how the market responds. The list and the copy and the offer get sharper from there.
We build and run this campaign for one agency per industry.
This page is a starting point and a strategy we'd happily test ourselves. Working together gives us more context on your agency. That context lets us add better strategies and build better lists and offers and automations for you.
Thirty minutes on your market and how we'd reach it.
